FREDERICK OLUSINA FROM MAYBUSH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRL IN SOUTHAMPTON

In a case that has shocked the local community, Frederick Olusina, a 36-year-old software engineer residing in Maybush, Southampton, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after being found guilty of engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl he met through an online chat platform.

The incident began when Olusina logged onto Teenchat.com, a popular social networking site among teenagers, with the intention of making new friends. During his online session, he encountered a user who identified herself as Babe UK. What started as innocent chatting quickly escalated into a series of text message exchanges between the two.

Over the course of three days, the communication intensified, culminating in a late-night meeting at Fareham train station. During this encounter, Olusina expressed his feelings to the girl, saying, “I want to hold you, kiss all your hurt away,” revealing his intentions and emotional state.

Following this initial meeting, the pair traveled to Olusina’s residence located on Tindale Road in Maybush. Once there, they went to bed, with the girl initially wearing nightwear. However, the situation took a disturbing turn when Olusina got into bed with her, kissed and cuddled her, and then removed her clothes. According to court reports, he told her, “I can’t resist you any more,” before engaging in sexual intercourse.

The girl later recounted to police that she felt powerless during the incident, stating, “I was no match for him and I did what he said.” Prosecutor Charles Thomas explained that the girl did not resist or oppose Olusina’s advances, largely due to her vulnerable state and the circumstances she found herself in that night.

Olusina, who was described as being of previously good character, pleaded guilty to two charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. During the sentencing hearing, the judge dismissed defense lawyer Graham James’s argument that the incident was not a case of “short-term, transient exploitation of a vulnerable girl,” asserting that it indeed was.

The judge emphasized the seriousness of the offense, stating, “In my view, that is exactly what it was.” While acknowledging that the maximum sentence available was two years, he expressed that the case was serious but not among the worst of its kind. Ultimately, he sentenced Olusina to 15 months in prison and ordered him to be registered as a sex offender for ten years, reflecting the gravity of his actions and the need for public protection.
