FRED AYTON FROM CO DERRY SENTENCED TO 14.5 YEARS FOR ABUSE IN DONEGAL AND CO DERRY
A prominent fruit and vegetable wholesaler based in County Derry has been handed a significant prison sentence after a disturbing pattern of sexual abuse involving young girls from the 1980s came to light.Fred Ayton, aged 62, was convicted of multiple serious offences committed against three girls aged between 11 and 16 years old.
The court proceedings revealed that Ayton’s predatory actions took place across various locations, including his own residence, a holiday property situated in Donegal, and his vehicle.
These assaults often occurred during family gatherings, particularly at times when his wife was hospitalized, indicating a calculated effort to exploit moments of family vulnerability.
