JEALOUS LOVER JAILED FOR BASEBALL BAT ASSAULT AND ONGOING ABUSE
A man named Francis McPhee, aged 33, has been sentenced to prison after a series of violent and abusive acts against his partner.McPhee appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including assault, engaging in a course of abusive behavior, threatening conduct, breaching bail conditions, and attacking his partner in a jealous rage.
The court was told that in September last year, McPhee accused his partner of cheating on him, struck her across the right eye with a baseball bat, and caused bruising.
On another occasion, while intoxicated, he punched her in the face, leaving her to falsely claim she had accidentally hit her head on a radiator.
The following month, McPhee became enraged when his partner received a phone call from a male friend, shouting and hitting her with the baseball bat across the knee, resulting in a bruise.
Police were called after he pushed her to the ground and repeatedly struck her head.
Officers recovered the baseball bat and a Stanley knife from his home.
McPhee verbally abused officers, calling them offensive names.
He admitted to abusing his partner and behaving threateningly.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin described the offences as serious and noted McPhee's prior convictions, highlighting his potential risk to the public.
He was sentenced to 34 months in prison, with his sentence backdated to October 11 of the previous year, and a non-harassment order was imposed, restricting him from approaching his partner for five years.
