KINGS NORTON MAN SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR RAPE OF A TEENAGER
A 17-year-old named Fesal Aidarus from Kings Norton was handed a six-year prison sentence after being convicted of raping a teenage girl. The offense took place following a friendship he established with the girl through a mutual acquaintance in October 2015.
At that time, the girl was just 14 years old and was traveling with Aidarus and another friend heading to a fireworks display.
During the trip, they stopped at a parking area in Newick Grove, Kings Heath.
There, Aidarus exited the vehicle and asked her to engage in a sexual act.
When she declined, stating she intended to look for their friend, Aidarus demanded she have sex with him again, and when she refused again, he raped her.
The girl, frightened, later pleaded with the men to take her home.
Aidarus, who was 19 at the time of the arrest, was detained shortly afterward, accused of the assault.
He maintained his innocence but was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court after a four-day trial.
Last Thursday (November 9), he received a six-year prison sentence and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Inspector Tony Parkes commented, 'This was a shocking assault where a vulnerable young girl was exploited.
Despite her crying and repeatedly asking him to stop, Aidarus continued his harmful attack on her.
There are no justifications or ambiguities with regard to rape—if someone says no, it is a criminal offense.
Our officers have a strong record of bringing perpetrators to justice.
As this case shows, we take all allegations of sexual assault very seriously and conduct thorough investigations.
I want to commend the girl for her bravery.
Her actions not only secured a significant jail term for Aidarus, preventing further harm, but also serve as a source of strength for others in similar situations.'
