NEWCASTLE MAN TURNED UP AT PARK AFTER ARRANGING TO MEET SCHOOLBOY FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY
A pervert who turned up hoping to meet a schoolboy for sexual activity found police waiting to arrest him.Faiz Mohammed had offered what he believed to be a 14-year-old lad £100 to meet him but had fallen into a trap set by an undercover police officer, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
It was in October 2024 that Mohammed started communicating with a profile which had been set up on FabGuys.
The conversation then moved to Snapchat, where the age of the "boy" was made clear.
Despite this, Mohammed said he wanted to meet him and would pay £100 for sexual activity to take place.
Nothing happened at that stage but then a few days later, Mohammed got back in touch, saying he had become nervous previously.
He said he would like to meet him but was told the boy was at school.
An arrangement was made to meet and Mohammed told him: "I have to be careful because of age.
I want to meet and will pay cash." Mohammed then attended a park in South Shields for the meet up, where police were waiting to arrest him.
He initially provided false details to them and claimed he knew it was a set up and was not going to meet anyone.
On his phone, police found two extreme pornography images, one showing a pig and a human engaged in sexual activity and the other a man using a drill on another man's private parts.
Mohammed, 35, of Collier Gardens, Hazlerigg, Newcastle, pleaded guilty to arranging the commission of a child sex offence and two counts of possessing extreme pornography.
He was sentenced to two years suspended for two years with £1,000 costs and must sign the sex offenders register for ten years and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
Chris Knox, defending, said he had stopped taking medication at the time of the offending and is remorseful.
He said his marriage has broken down and added: "He is mortified to find himself where he is."
