EVAN LLOYD FROM DUDBRIDGE STRUGGLES WITH PAST, BUT NOW SEEMS REHABILITATED AND FREE TO VIEW CONTENT

In a significant legal development at Gloucester Crown Court, the restrictions previously placed on Evan Lloyd, a 54-year-old man from Dudbridge Meadow, Stroud, have been officially lifted. The court's decision came after a thorough review of reports from the probation service and testimonies from law enforcement officials, indicating that Lloyd now presents a considerably lower risk to the public.

Back in 2010, Lloyd faced serious allegations when he admitted to possessing highly disturbing images of extreme pornography involving animals. This was not his first encounter with the criminal justice system; in 2006, he had previously been convicted of indecent exposure. As a result of his 2010 conviction, a lifelong sexual offences prevention order was imposed, which explicitly prohibited him from using any device capable of accessing the internet to view any form of pornography, whether lawful or unlawful.

However, on Tuesday, January 24, the presiding judge, Jamie Tabor QC, decided to lift this order. The decision was based on a comprehensive assessment of Lloyd’s current circumstances, including a detailed report from the probation service and the testimony of Pc Wendy Heaton, who has been monitoring Lloyd’s activities since 2008. Pc Heaton provided insight into Lloyd’s recent life, describing him as being in a markedly improved state. She highlighted that Lloyd’s life has undergone significant positive changes following the end of a damaging marriage with his wife of over twenty years.

According to Pc Heaton, Lloyd has adopted a more positive and confident outlook on life. She explained that his previous marriage was characterized by a highly sexually pre-occupied relationship, which she described as damaging. Since the separation, Lloyd has found renewed purpose and stability, especially through his role as a grandfather. He now has four grandchildren, whose ages range from less than a year old to five years old, and they play a vital role in his life. Lloyd also maintains close relationships with his two adult sons, spending considerable time with them and engaging actively in their lives.

During the court proceedings, Judge Tabor invited Lloyd to provide details about his current lifestyle. Lloyd shared that one of his grandchildren is not yet a year old, another is 14 months, and the older two are four and five years old. The judge acknowledged the positive changes in Lloyd’s life, emphasizing that the officer involved in his case has known him for a long time and is convinced that the harmful marriage he endured has ended. The judge noted that Lloyd’s primary focus now is on his grandchildren and that the risk he poses to the community has been significantly reduced.

Judge Tabor concluded that the police and probation services believe Lloyd no longer poses a threat, and therefore, the lifelong order restricting his access to internet-based pornography should be removed. The court’s decision reflects a belief that Lloyd has made substantial progress in his rehabilitation and that he is now in a much better place, both personally and socially.
