MAN SENTENCED FOR REPEATEDLY GROPING WOMAN ON BUS
A man has been sentenced after groping a woman on a bus.
On October 12, 2021, Esosa Eguakun boarded a bus at Chichester Bus Station, sitting directly behind a woman in her twenties, despite the vehicle being mostly empty.
Police reports indicate that his actions caused the woman to feel "uncomfortable and threatened".
Throughout the journey, Eguakun extended his hands through the back of her seat and repeatedly touched her buttocks.
As she attempted to leave at the next stop, noticing Eguakun was following her, she notified the driver, who then contacted the police.
Law enforcement officers responded in Chichester Road, Bognor, and arrested Eguakun.
He initially denied the sexual assault during police interviews but subsequently admitted to the crime, leading to formal charges.
Eguakun, from Stockbridge Road in Chichester, admitted guilt and was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years.
He was also ordered to undertake a 30-day rehabilitation course, complete 200 hours of unpaid work, and compensate the victim.
