In a disturbing development, former Labour Member of Parliament Eric Joyce has admitted to downloading a highly disturbing and illegal video depicting child rape and torture. The incident came to light during a pre-trial hearing at Ipswich Crown Court, where Joyce, aged 59 and residing in Worlingworth, Suffolk, pleaded guilty to the possession of an indecent photograph of a child.
Joyce, who served as the Labour MP for Falkirk from 2000 until 2015 and was a Labour shadow minister during part of his tenure, has been ordered to register as a sex offender following his admission. The court proceedings revealed that the illegal material was downloaded between August 7, 2013, and November 6, 2018. The evidence included a video lasting approximately 51 seconds, which was found on a device in Joyce’s possession.
