NORTH WARWICKSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR RAPE, ASSAULT, KIDNAP AND BURGLARY
A 28-YEAR-OLD North Warwickshire man has been jailed after pleading guilty to rape, assault, kidnapping and burglary.Emilian Paduraru of Fillongley, was sentenced to 15 years in prison at Warwick Crown Court yesterday (June 15).Paduraru was charged in February 2016 after being identified as a suspect and interviewed by investigating officers.He was sentenced to 15 years for rape, 10 years for kidnapping, 4 months for assault and received a further 12 months, all to run concurrently, for a burglary in the West Midlands area.Det Con Michelle Russell of Warwickshire Police said: “We welcome the verdict and remain committed to bringing dangerous sexual offenders to justice.”“I would like to commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward after being subjected to such a terrible ordeal by Emilian Paduraru.”Det Sgt Adam Clifford added: “Thanks to her support and a relentless team effort from investigating officers, Paduraru was quickly identified and charged and will now be spending a considerable amount of time in prison for his crimes.”“If you have been a victim of rape, there are a range of regional and national organisations, health professionals and charities who can offer you support.
