COVENTRY MAN EMIL ANTON JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEENAGE GIRL
A man has been sentenced after committing a sexual crime against a teenage girl in Coventry.
Emil Anton, aged 36, subjected the young victim to a traumatic attack in Canley in 2021.
During the incident, Anton left her with injuries to her face and body.
She was able to run home afterwards and notify her parents, which initiated an immediate police investigation.
Officers tracked down Anton’s car near the scene, leading to his arrest.
He was charged with attempted rape, threatening behavior with an offensive weapon, and assault.
Anton pleaded guilty at the outset of his trial and was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment at Warwick Crown Court on March 20.
The court ordered a determinate term of 16 years, with the understanding that he would serve at least two-thirds before parole eligibility.
He will also be subject to lifetime licensing conditions.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to defending victims of sexual offenses and bringing offenders to justice.
The Child Public Protection Unit at West Midlands Police praised the thoroughness of the investigation and the victim’s brave testimony, which contributed significantly to the guilty plea.
