EDWARD HUNTER FROM CARRONSHORE SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR SEX OFFENCES IN EDINBURGH
In a recent and highly disturbing case, Edward Hunter, aged 42 and hailing from Carronshore, Falkirk, has been sentenced to a total of eight years and three months in prison for a series of heinous sexual offences.
The offences included the assault and molestation of a mother and her underage daughter, incidents that occurred while Hunter was on bail for other sex-related charges.
The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh, where it was revealed that Hunter had stayed overnight at the victims' residence during the time of the offences.
Despite denying all allegations, Hunter was found guilty of ten separate charges encompassing rape, sexual assault, indecency, and assault, committed against four different victims over a span of more than a decade, from 2003 up to this year.

The judge, Lord Boyd of Duncansby, expressed his condemnation of Hunter’s actions, stating, “These offences include ones against two young girls, one of whom you raped repeatedly.
It appears to me you have no appreciation of the harm you have caused.” Furthermore, the judge ordered that Hunter be placed under supervision for an additional three years following his release and mandated that he remain on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
The sentencing underscores the gravity of Hunter’s crimes and the judicial system’s stance on protecting victims from such predatory behaviour.
