A 49-year-old man from Gwynedd has been found guilty of offences related to domestic abuse.
Dylan John, who resides in Ael Y Glyn, Harlech, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court on July 10.
He admitted to engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour over a period starting in 2017.
The court sentenced him to nine months in prison and imposed a restraining order against him.
Detective Constable Rowenna Owen commented, “Domestic abuse manifests in many ways and can cause deep and enduring harm to victims.
I applaud the bravery shown by the victim in this case, who demonstrated courage throughout a difficult ordeal.
Their bravery resulted in Dylan John’s conviction.” She also urged others who may be suffering domestic abuse to come forward, emphasizing that their concerns will be treated with seriousness and that support services are available.
“We will collaborate with partners to support you during investigations, and we aim to achieve a positive outcome,” she added.
