An East Yorkshire man has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman.
Duncan Norman, aged 35, residing on Main Street in North Frodingham, near Driffield, pleaded guilty to the charge during an earlier hearing.
He was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on 11 April and is also required to be on the sex offenders register for life.
Humberside Police described his actions as having "violated a young woman for his own gratification." PC Helen Kirk praised the bravery of the victim for reporting the incident and her resilience during the investigation.
She expressed hope that the sentence would provide the victim with some reassurance, stating, "While it does not erase the suffering caused, I do hope this result can provide her with some reassurance in knowing that Norman will no longer be able to cause harm to anyone else." She also urged other victims to come forward, assuring them that they would be listened to and taken seriously.
