NEWMACHAR PAEDOPHILE WHO ASKED TO SEE ‘BEAUTIFUL CURVES’ OF GIRL, 14, AVOIDS PRISON
An Aberdeenshire paedophile who claims he was attacked in the community after his crime became known has avoided being sent to prison.Duncan McBain was caught in an orchestrated sting by a paedophile hunter group, with one of their members using a fake Facebook profile to pose as a 14-year-old girl.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard how McBain, 53, soon messaged the decoy teen, requesting she send him intimate pictures and asked to see her “beautiful curves”.
The hunter group, which calls itself Scotland Child Protection Team, later confronted McBain in a Kemnay car park and streamed it live on Facebook.
His solicitor Ian Woodward-Nutt revealed that McBain was assaulted in his hometown of Newmachar after his offences came to light.
“It’s been made clear to him that his actions are not approved of by the community,” the solicitor said.
He pleaded guilty to one count of communicating with someone he believed to be under 16 years of age for the purpose of sexual gratification.
The court sentenced him to a community payback order with supervision for two years and ordered him to participate in a sex offenders programme.
He is also placed on the sex offenders register for two years.
