LORRY DRIVER CAUGHT MASTURBATING IN RETAIL PARK
A truck driver was caught engaging in public indecency inside his vehicle at a busy shopping complex.Donald Prescott, 44 years old, was discovered masturbating in his red Kia after pulling over in a parking area at Aylesford Retail Park.
He was observed by a man who reported the incident to police.
The witness saw Prescott’s actions at a time when children were present in the vicinity, heading home from school.
In court in January, Prescott of Frognal Gardens, Teynham, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency.
He later appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on April 2 to receive sentencing.
Prosecutor Terry Knox detailed that the witness saw Prescott, who was not wearing lower clothing, with his penis exposed while masturbating.
The victim stated that there was considerable traffic at the scene at the time, and remarked on Prescott’s brazen conduct with children nearby.
Knox added that Prescott re-entered a shop and returned after five minutes, passing the same vehicle again, still exposing himself and masturbating.
When confronted, Prescott was told to stop, but he drove off quickly.
The prosecution acknowledged Prescott’s early guilty plea and his good character prior to the incident.
Prescott's defense told the court that he regarded the offense as his worst mistake and that he was remorseful.
He explained that he was using a sex hot line because he was unable to do so at home.
Judge Leake took note of Prescott’s remorse and full cooperation with police but highlighted the seriousness of the offense, especially considering the distress caused.
The judge imposed a 10-month community order requiring 120 hours of unpaid work, along with a court surcharge and costs of £199.
The court emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and caused unnecessary alarm.
