Colchester Child Sexual Abuser
A man accused of a serious sexual offence targeting a young girl is set to face a lengthy prison sentence later this year. Dominic Boultwood, aged 27, was found guilty of multiple charges following a trial at Ipswich Crown Court, which concluded on Friday.

The incident in question took place in May of the previous year, within a remote woodland area close to the Bourne Valley nature reserve, near Mersea Road in Colchester. According to court proceedings, Boultwood, who is already registered as a sex offender, approached a 13-year-old girl and lured her into a secluded part of the woodland. Once there, he forcibly pulled her to the ground and committed a sexual assault.

The jury was informed that Boultwood’s actions were corroborated by forensic evidence. Investigators from Essex Police confirmed that DNA matching Boultwood’s was recovered from the victim’s clothing, establishing a direct link to the crime. Following the assault, Boultwood was detained by authorities six days later. He resides on Ladbrook Drive in Colchester.

As the case moves toward sentencing, Boultwood is scheduled to be sentenced in June. The court’s decision will determine the severity of the punishment for his actions, which have caused significant distress to the young victim and her family.
