A pair of women caused unnecessary suffering to four dogs at their home in Middlesbrough.
Diane Kenvyn, 42, and Ellissa Rose Kenvyn, 18, failed to investigate and address the poor bodily condition and weight loss of the animals, which are protected under animal welfare laws.
The pair appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to the animals.
The court acknowledged that Diane Kenvyn and Ellissa Rose Kenvyn caused suffering to three malinois-type dogs named Beau, Covou, Max, and a cross-breed dog called Rocco.
The crime under the Animal Welfare Act took place between October 28 and December 11 of the previous year at their residence.
Both women pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the RSPCA.
They are scheduled to learn their fate at a further hearing in Middlesbrough on October 3, where presentence reports will be considered.
