SWINDON MAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS AFTER VIOLENT RAPE
A man named Desun Nebus, residing on Whitbourne Avenue, was convicted for violently raping a woman following heavy drinking.
Nebus admitted to police that he had consumed about 20 beers prior to the assault.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 13, and involved Nebus attacking the victim with a knife, causing serious injuries to her genitals, and then forcing himself upon her.
After the assault, he dragged her downstairs and repeatedly hit her head on the floor, resulting in bruising.
Nebus also produced a 14cm hunting knife with a serrated back, threatening to kill the victim and causing cuts to her hand.
Initially, he claimed the assault was consensual, but medical evidence proved otherwise.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, sex assault, actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
Judge Euan Ambrose sentenced him to six years in prison, with a requirement to register as a sex offender.
It is also likely he will face deportation upon release.
