RAVENSHEAD MAN WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES SENTENCED AFTER COURT FIND INDECENT CONTENT
Indecent images of children and videos were found on devices seized from a 52-year-old man's home after a police search, a court heard.
Dean Wright, 54, of Longdale Lane, Ravenshead, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court over the discovery.
He had 254 images of children across all Categories - from Category A, the most serious, to Category C, of lesser seriousness.
Sixteen images were at Category A; 64 in Category B and 174 in Category C.
Twelve videos were across all of those categories.
Wright pleaded guilty before magistrates to three charges concerning indecent images and videos of children, and his case was sent to the crown court for sentencing on Friday, January 29.
Julia King, prosecuting, said examples were given in the papers regarding the videos and images.
"I summarise it in this way, some involved children as young as four," she said.
During interview on the day of the search, Wright said he used pornography.
He claimed he simply deleted any indecent images that appeared as he searched pornography.
"He denied, in short, having a sexual interest in children," added Miss King.
The judge granted an application from the prosecution for the destruction of three devices seized.
Phil Gibbs, mitigating, said Wright had been employed for 31 years "without blemish" and "he has faced up to this with his employer".
Judge John Burgess made a sexual harm prevention order for five years, an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months concurrently on the charges, 30 rehabilitation activity days, a ten-year requirement to sign on the sex offenders' register and complete a 'Maps for Change' programme.
"He is barred from working with children," he added.
