PENSIONER IN AYRSHIRE CHARGED WITH PUBLIC INDECENCY AND ASSAULT
A PENSIONER who allegedly exposed himself to neighbours and urinated into a letterbox has been charged with public indecency.David Wheeler, aged 69, faces allegations of public indecency committed on April 11 this year by walking around a common close "wearing only a t-shirt and exposing" his privates.
Prosecutors also claim he assaulted a woman by striking her on the head and then threw a walking aid at her, causing it to strike her body.
Additionally, he faces a charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, identified as a walking aid, without legal excuse or lawful authority.
Wheeler is also accused of breaching court orders not to approach or contact two females on the complaint after allegedly "sending both friend requests on Facebook" on April 12, while already released on an undertaking to appear in Ayr Sheriff Court on May 13.
A second criminal complaint alleges he later intentionally exposed his genitals in a sexual manner to another woman, standing in a common close with his dressing gown open to expose himself, and then urinated through her letterbox.
He also faces a second charge for breaching bail conditions by placing items through her letterbox on April 17.
The defendant, represented by defence solicitor Robert Logan, pleaded not guilty to all allegations and will return to the dock at a later date.
