DAVID THORNE FROM CHERRY WILLINGHAM SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL OFFENCES IN LINCOLN
UPDATE 30/09/2025: David Thorne pleaded guilty to raping a child under the age of 13 is jailed for 14 years.He was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will have to serve an extended period of 12 months on licence when he is released from custody.
A restraining order will also prevent Thorne having any further contact with his victim, end of update.
A 22-year-old man named David Thorne, who is known to have served as an army cadet leader, has been found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences.
The charges include five counts of rape involving a girl under the age of 13, along with three additional counts of assault by penetration.
These heinous acts took place on three separate occasions in December 2023, and Thorne’s actions have shocked the local community in Cherry Willingham and the surrounding areas.
According to court records, Thorne travelled from his residence on New Crescent in Cherry Willingham to meet the young girl multiple times in the Grantham area.
During these meetings, he engaged in sexual activities with her, actions that have now been condemned by the justice system.
The case was heard at Lincoln Crown Court, where Thorne attempted to justify his conduct by claiming he believed the girl was 17 years old.
However, this assertion was firmly rejected by the court, which accepted the victim’s account as truthful and accurate.
