DAVID RONEY FROM DAVYHULME JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRLS IN MANCHESTER
In a recent case heard at Minshull Street Crown Court, a 55-year-old man named David Roney, residing on Balmain Road in Davyhulme, was sentenced to serve eight months in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two young girls.The court's decision also mandated that Roney register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
The incidents in question occurred last September when Roney was accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.
According to reports, the young victim told Roney to stop during the assault, but he continued his actions.
The following day, the girl confided in her mother about what had transpired.
Authorities quickly responded, and Roney was arrested and questioned regarding the incident.
Despite the evidence, Roney denied any wrongdoing during police interviews.
The case took a further turn when a second young girl, aged six, came forward with a similar allegation against Roney.
This led to his being formally charged in November with multiple counts of sexual assault.
The court proceedings highlighted the disturbing nature of the offenses and the bravery of the victims in coming forward to report the abuse.
Detective Constable Nicola Graham, from the Trafford Public Protection Investigation Unit, commented on the case, stating, "These two very young victims have been extremely brave in coming forward and reporting this man for his behaviour.
They knew what he was doing was wrong and today he has had to face the consequences of his depraved actions." Authorities emphasized the importance of support for victims of sexual assault.
