DAVID REED FROM LOWER KNOWLE SENTENCED AFTER REPEATED SEXUAL OFFENCES IN BRISTOL
In a series of disturbing incidents that have shocked the Bristol community, David Reed, a resident of Lower Knowle, has been convicted of multiple sexual offences involving young girls.
His criminal activities span over several years, with the most recent conviction resulting in a two-year prison sentence.
Reed, aged 57, who has been diagnosed with learning difficulties, first came under scrutiny in October 2012.
He was initially convicted of 16 counts of abusing a young girl aged between five and eight years old.
The court heard that Reed had engaged in inappropriate conduct towards the girl, which included groping and other forms of sexual abuse.
As part of his sentence, he received a 12-month jail term, which was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offence within that period.
However, just a few weeks after this conviction, Reed's troubling behavior continued.
Bristol Crown Court was informed that he had groped a 14-year-old girl, an act that led to further legal action.
Reed pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and breaching a sexual offences prevention order that had been imposed on him following his previous convictions.
