In a disturbing incident that took place in London, a man identified as David Murphy from Hinds was recently convicted and sentenced for engaging in a sexual act in front of a young girl.

The incident occurred in March when Murphy sat down near a 13-year-old girl aboard a route 121 bus heading towards Southgate.

According to reports, as the young girl was preparing to disembark from the bus, she noticed Murphy engaging in a sexual act by masturbating in her presence.

The distressing scene was witnessed by the girl as she exited the vehicle, leaving her understandably shaken and alarmed.

Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the incident by utilizing CCTV footage captured from the bus.

The footage proved instrumental in identifying and tracing the suspect, leading to Murphy's arrest on March 28.

Following his arrest, Murphy was formally charged with the offense.

Initially, Murphy-Hinds pleaded not guilty to the charge of outraging public decency.

However, during subsequent proceedings, he changed his plea and admitted to the misconduct.

The case was brought before Wood Green Crown Court, where Murphy was sentenced on April 23 to serve a year in prison for his actions.
