DANGEROUS PAEDOPHILE DAVID MATTHEWS FROM LENTON SENTENCED IN NOTTINGHAM
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Nottingham community, David Matthews, a man residing in the Lenton area, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence of 12 years for his disturbing criminal activities. The court heard that Matthews, aged 45, had committed serious offenses involving a young girl, which included indecent assault, and had also violated a restraining order that was previously imposed against him.During the proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court, it was revealed that Matthews had not only assaulted the young girl but also deliberately breached the conditions of his restraining order by failing to inform authorities of his whereabouts when he was away from his residence. His actions demonstrated a blatant disregard for legal restrictions and the safety of others.
Furthermore, the court was informed that Matthews had engaged in manipulative tactics to gain access to children. He had intentionally befriended two different families, exploiting their trust to get close to their children. This calculated approach underscored his dangerous and predatory nature.
It was also disclosed that Matthews had prior convictions related to offenses against children, highlighting a troubling pattern of behavior that had persisted over time. The judge, Michael Pert, condemned Matthews for his blatant violation of court orders and his manipulative conduct. He pointed out that Matthews had exploited his position by working in a job selling newspapers, which he used as a means to approach families with children.
Judge Pert emphasized that Matthews had successfully lulled the adults around him into believing he was a trustworthy individual, all the while harboring malicious intentions. The court described him as a highly dangerous and manipulative paedophile who posed a significant threat to the safety and well-being of children in the Nottingham area, particularly in the Lenton neighborhood where he resided.
In delivering the sentence, the judge made it clear that Matthews’s actions warranted a severe punishment, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the danger he represented to the community.
