OXFORDSHIRE MAN CONVICTED OF HISTORIC SEX OFFENCES, SENTENCING SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER
A sentencing date has been scheduled for Oxfordshire resident David Kuca, aged 80, who has been convicted of multiple historic sex offences involving two girls.Kuca, residing on New Road in East Hagbourne, was found guilty earlier this month of various sexual misconducts including three counts of indecent assault on a girl, two counts of assaulting a girl by touching, two counts of making an indecent photo of a child, and one count of causing a child to watch an image of sexual activity.
He was acquitted of charges including attempting to rape a girl, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, assault causing actual bodily harm, and three counts of raping a girl.
The court revealed that Kuca denied allegations during police interviews, claiming erectile dysfunction prevented such acts.
The court detailed the allegations, including that sexual abuse began when one girl was around six years old, with accusations that Kuca put his hands down her jeans and asked if she liked it, among other acts.
Prosecutor William Eaglestone emphasized that the victims had no motivation to fabricate their claims, describing the victims' fear and distress during the abuse and highlighting Kuca's pattern as a repeat offender.
The trial also included police interviews where Kuca denied the allegations, and evidence was presented regarding abuse starting in the late 1990s and mid-2010s.
The jury was unable to reach a verdict on certain counts, and Kuca's sentencing is set for September 9 at Oxford Crown Court.
