FORMER HEADTEACHER BARRED INDEFINITELY AFTER VOYEURISM ACT
A former principal at Bredon Hill Middle School near Evesham has been prohibited from teaching indefinitely by a professional conduct tribunal following his conviction for voyeurism.
David Doubtfire, residing on Westholme Road in Bidford, was found guilty of inappropriate professional behavior after he looked through a cubicle door at a leisure center in Evesham on July 17, 2013, spying on a 26-year-old woman.
He was convicted of voyeurism and registered as a sex offender in June of the previous year.
The disciplinary panel stated that the 51-year-old intentionally looked under the partition until the woman became aware of his presence.
The panel further noted that his conduct risked damaging the reputation of the teaching profession.
Doubtfire admitted to the voyeurism charge at Hereford Crown Court in June 2014, resulting in a 12-month conditional discharge and a £15 victim surcharge.
At the time of the incident, he was serving as headteacher at Walkwood Church of England Middle School in Redditch but resigned from his position afterward.
A statement released on the school's website at that time clarified that the allegations did not involve his former employment or any students at the school.
