A man identified as David Cunningham, aged 60, has been sentenced to a 14-year prison term after being convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against three women. Cunningham, a father of five from Farr, a village near Inverness, carried out his heinous acts over a span of more than a decade, targeting victims at various addresses across the Highlands region.
According to the proceedings at the High Court in Glasgow, one of Cunningham’s victims endured nightly assaults from January 2005 through June 2008. The court heard harrowing details of her repeated victimization, which included being raped on a nightly basis during that period. As Cunningham was led out of the courtroom following his sentencing, one of the women he had harmed shouted a defiant and emotional remark:
