DAVID BELL FROM HEACHAM AND OUTWELL SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR CHILD ABUSE IN NORFOLK

In a case that has shocked the Norfolk community, David Bell, aged 41, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 13 years after being found guilty of a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of children. The offences took place over a span of six years, during which Bell targeted vulnerable young victims in the areas of Outwell and Heacham.

Bell, who resided at Fendyke Road in Outwell and also used a caravan in Heacham, committed these disturbing acts between the late 1970s and early 1980s. His actions included repeated rapes of a young girl and molestation of two boys, all of which were meticulously documented and brought to light during the trial.

The case was heard at Norwich Crown Court, where Judge Alasdair Darroch delivered a stern sentence, emphasizing the severity of Bell’s crimes. The judge stated, “You must go to prison for a very long time,” underscoring the gravity of the offences committed by Bell.

Following a thorough trial, jurors convicted Bell of a total of 19 sexual offences. The verdict included guilty verdicts on eight counts of rape, five counts of indecent assault, and six counts of serious sexual assault. These charges reflect the extent of Bell’s predatory behavior and the impact on his young victims.

As part of his sentence, Bell was also ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from further harm.
