DARREN JOHN HENRY PARSONS FROM CHESLYN HAY SENTENCED FOR STALKING AND ASSAULT IN STAFFORD

Darren John Henry Parsons, a 45-year-old resident of Streets Lane in Cheslyn Hay, has been formally sentenced following his admission to serious criminal charges involving stalking and an assault that resulted in grievous bodily harm with intent. The case was heard at Stafford Crown Court, where Parsons faced the consequences of his actions.

The incident that led to his conviction occurred last September within the village of Cheslyn Hay. It was captured on a video doorbell, providing clear evidence of the assault. During this violent encounter, Parsons physically attacked a man by grabbing his throat, delivering punches, and ultimately causing a broken elbow. The assault was severe and left the victim with significant injuries, highlighting the dangerous nature of Parsons’ behavior.

However, this was not an isolated case. Court records revealed that Parsons has a troubling history dating back to 2019 involving stalking a woman. His methods included installing a tracking device on her car, which allowed him to monitor her movements extensively. This obsessive behavior extended to following her during a holiday with her family and even while she was on a break with friends. The stalking caused immense emotional distress, as the victim reported feeling constantly watched and threatened.

In addition to the stalking, Parsons sent multiple threatening messages to the woman and her friend, explicitly indicating that they were under surveillance. His harassment also included damaging her brother’s car, further demonstrating his willingness to intimidate and harm those associated with his victim.

For these crimes, Parsons was sentenced to a total of four years and seven months in prison. The case drew comments from Pc Joanne Graham of the Lichfield Harm Reduction Hub, who emphasized the profound impact of Parsons’ actions. She stated, “The impact of Parsons’ actions has been immense, causing the stalking victim to live in constant fear that she was being watched. The emotional distress caused by stalking cannot be underestimated.”

She concluded by expressing relief that Parsons has now been held accountable, saying, “Thankfully, he has now been held accountable for his actions.”
