DARCY COLE FROM AMLWCH JAILED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF UNDERAGE GIRL IN NORTH WALES
In April 2022, a disturbing case unfolded involving Darcy Tyler Cole, a man from Amlwch, who was found to be in possession of a missing underage girl within his flat.The incident led to his immediate arrest and subsequent conviction for serious sexual offenses.
Darcy Cole was brought before Caernarfon Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
The court sentenced him to four years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his actions.
In addition to his custodial sentence, the judge imposed a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, aimed at restricting his future behavior and safeguarding the community from potential harm.
The investigation that uncovered Cole’s crimes began when North Wales Police sought to locate a teenage girl reported missing from north east Wales in October of the previous year.
Prosecutor Sion ap Mihangel explained that law enforcement officials analyzed mobile phone data and tracked her movements, which ultimately led them to Anglesey.
Authorities then visited Cole’s residence on Maes y Llan in Amlwch.
When they arrived, after a brief delay, Cole opened the door and confirmed their suspicions by stating, “She’s here and safe.” However, the officers quickly observed love bites on the girl’s neck, indicating recent intimate contact.
Cole was immediately arrested at the scene, and the girl was visibly upset, as court proceedings revealed.
Further inquiries revealed that Cole and the girl had maintained regular contact through social media, engaging in conversations of a sexualized nature.
Evidence included discussions about her school, photographs of her in school uniform, and a graphic video involving Cole.
The prosecutor detailed that the girl had first met Cole in person in north east Wales and expressed that she liked how he treated her.
It was also disclosed that Cole had gone to considerable lengths to meet her, including taking a bus, train, and taxi to pick her up and bring her back to his flat.
During police interviews, Cole admitted that they had kissed and exchanged love bites, confirming the sexual nature of their relationship.
This case highlights the dangers posed by online grooming and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to protect vulnerable minors from exploitation and abuse.
