DANNY PRIN JAILED FOR 14 YEARS IN OXFORD FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL ABUSE OF FOUR GIRLS
In a case that has shocked the community of Oxford, a man named Danny Prin, aged 37, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 14 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses committed against four young girls. The abuse took place over a span of two years, from 1993 to 1995, when the victims were between the ages of six and ten.
Prin, who resides on Kennet Road in Bicester, was brought before Oxford Crown Court where he faced a series of charges related to his heinous acts.
The court heard that he was convicted on a total of 20 counts, which included 10 counts of indecent assault, six counts of indecency with children, and four counts of rape.
These charges stemmed from the testimonies of the four girls who bravely came forward to recount their experiences.
Following his arrest on November 7 of the previous year, Prin entered a guilty plea to one of the counts of indecent assault.
The jury, however, found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on the remaining charges after a trial.
He was acquitted of one additional count, but the verdicts confirmed his guilt on the majority of the charges brought against him.
Detective Constable Matthew Hodgetts, who led the investigation, emphasized the importance of this case in highlighting that victims of historic abuse are often ordinary individuals who have endured silent suffering.
He pointed out that the crimes, although committed two decades ago, continue to have a profound impact on the victims' lives.
Hodgetts stated, “Recent high-profile trials of celebrities obscure the fact that the victims of historic abuse of children are often ordinary people, and that, in the main, the offenders are also not in the public eye.” He further added, “In this case, the crimes occurred 20 years ago, but it would be wrong just to leave events in the past.
As the victims gave evidence it became apparent that what happened has continued to affect them.
I hope that the fact that a jury has believed them will help them move forward with their lives.
To others who are suffering in silence, this case shows that it is never too late to come forward to seek justice.”
