HAVERHILL RAPIST DANNY FOLEY JAILED FOR 13 YEARS IN IPSWICH
A manipulative man named Danny Foley, of Church Road, Bulmer, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for multiple serious crimes including coercive control and rapes.
He was previously convicted in April on charges of three counts of rape, one count of non-fatal strangulation, and one count of perverting the course of justice.
Court proceedings described Foley as a dangerous individual who poses a significant risk to the public.
The court heard harrowing details of his abuse, such as returning home drunk and violently raping a victim while her young child was asleep, threatening to kill himself unless the victim had sex, and forcing her to write a misleading letter before she approached police.
Foley also has a history of violence, including a 2020 battery against a previous partner and a suspended sentence in 2022 for coercive and controlling behaviour toward another partner.
Despite being offered the chance to assist with a pre-sentence report, Foley refused to cooperate, further demonstrating manipulative behavior.
He was sentenced to 13 years with a four-year extended license, meaning he could be recalled to prison if deemed a danger.
Additionally, a restraining order was made against him and he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228.
