BODYBUILDING THUG CONVICTED OF BRUTAL DOMESTIC ABUSE AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT
A bodybuilding-oriented offender, Danny Bridges, aged 35, was convicted for heinous domestic abuse involving his pregnant girlfriend. The victim reported that Bridges attacked her after she 'liked' posts of her friends on Facebook, which triggered his violent outburst.
The assault was severe: Bridges throttled and physically assaulted her, including gouging her eyes, pulling her eyelids back until they 'turned inside out,' and delivering powerful punches.
The victim described seeing white flashes during the attack and feared her eye would pop out.
He also threatened to harm her unborn child.
Bridges then imprisoned her in his residence in Whitstable, Kent, between October 31 and November 2, to conceal her injuries.
The police were alerted when she managed to send a message to a friend, despite Bridges locking her in the flat.
When officers arrived, they found her with serious facial bruising and other injuries, while she was initially reluctant to give a statement, claiming her injuries resulted from falls and hitting her head.
The court judge, Rupert Lowe, characterized Bridges as a 'very dangerous man' and expressed concern about the safety of any future partners.
Bridges was found guilty of false imprisonment and two counts of actual bodily harm, and faces sentencing in June.
The court highlighted a history of violent behavior, including assaults on family members and previous partners, indicating a pattern of domestic violence and brutality, with court proceedings revealing he had previously committed serious assaults, including knocking out his sister and assaulting his mother and a previous partner.
This case underscores his recklessness and violence towards women, with authorities emphasizing the ongoing risk he poses.
