SEX OFFENDER JAILED AFTER ASKING FOR NAKED PHOTOS FROM A DECOY
A sex offender from Derbyshire who believed he was communicating with a teenage girl online has been sentenced to prison.Daniel Stout engaged in messaging with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl on an internet chat platform, during which he sent explicit photos of himself and requested similar images in return.
Unbeknownst to him, the girl was actually an undercover operative from an online child abuse awareness group.
After arranging to meet her in Buxton, his hometown, Stout was arrested by authorities.
The 28-year-old, who has a prior conviction for a similar crime, was already subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that prohibited contact with girls under 16.
Stout, residing on Fairfield Road in Buxton, faced charges for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor and for breaching his existing order.
He admitted to the charges and appeared at Derby Crown Court for sentencing on October 22, where he received a two-and-a-half-year prison term.
