ABERDEEN DJ JAILED FOR RAPING THREE WOMEN
A former DJ from Aberdeen who was convicted of raping three women has been sentenced to nine years in prison.The crimes occurred between December 2005 and March 2014 in Aberdeen.
Severin, aged 30, denied the charges during his trial at the High Court in Aberdeen, claiming the acts were consensual.
However, the jury found him guilty of six rape charges.
The sentencing was delivered by Lord Beckett at the High Court in Glasgow, who also ordered Severin to be supervised for an additional three years upon release.
The judge described Severin’s pursuit of sex as such that he did not care whether the women consented.
The victims demonstrated notable strength and courage in coming forward, which police later praised.
Severin’s actions included attacking one woman while she was asleep.
He was ultimately convicted and sentenced for these offences.
