HULL PREDATOR DANIEL GRANT JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A man convicted of sexually abusing three young girls from Hull over an eight-year period has been sentenced to 16 years behind bars.Daniel Grant, aged 32, exploited his victims—aged three, four, and eight at the times of the offenses—by committing multiple acts of sexual assault, including penetration.
Throughout the legal process, Grant engaged in deceitful conduct, denying his guilt and fabricating lies.
Following a guilty verdict by a jury on four counts of sexual assault on a child under 13 and one count of sexual assault by penetration, Grant appeared in Hull Crown Court for sentencing.
It was revealed that one of his victims had confided in her mother years earlier, but lack of sufficient evidence prevented a conviction then.
In 2019, another girl broke down during a sex education class, and a third victim shared her abuse after showing unusual behaviour around her grandparents.
The court judge condemned Grant for continuing to lie and for causing further trauma to the victims during police interviews and court procedures.
The victims have endured significant emotional harm, which will have lasting effects.
Recorder Taryn Turner stated that Grant subjected these girls to a frightening ordeal solely for his own gratification, condemning his lack of remorse.
Grant, who resides on Wentworth Close in Gilberdyke and also has an address in Hull, was sentenced to 16 years in prison, with an additional four years on extended licence.
He received seven-year terms on each of the other charges, to run concurrently.
He will be registered as a sex offender indefinitely and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
Humberside Police acknowledged the courage of the victims in coming forward and providing evidence.
Detective Constable Rob O’Neill highlighted the importance of reporting manipulation and coercion.
The court recognized Grant as dangerous, emphasizing the ongoing risks to children if offenders like him are not prosecuted thoroughly.
