WOMAN LEFT INCHES FROM DEATH AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK BY DANIEL BURTON IN HULL
A survivor of one of the worst cases of domestic violence seen by Humberside Police in 15 years has bravely issued pictures of her appalling injuries which left her unrecognisable to her own daughter.Only hours before these pictures were taken, Helen Procter and her family had had no reason to believe her partner of two years, Daniel Burton, had a violent bone in his body.
When Helen met Burton through friends in October 2018, she thought she'd met the man of her dreams.
At 40, the Hull mum was thrilled to find a kind, well-spoken and thoughtful man to look after her - what she didn't realise was that Burton was an evil monster in disguise, hiding an extensive past record of violence.

After bludgeoning Helen to within inches of her life, Burton sat down to watch TV, hiding her phone so she couldn't call for help.
He late brought her to hospital the following day, telling her to lie to doctors about how she got her injuries.
He made mum say she had been drunk, but nurses kept asking her over and over, ‘did he do this to you?’.
Eventually she said, ‘yeah’.
I thought I was going to lose her.
It was touch and go for a while.
Helen's family say she will never be the same again - both physically and mentally.
Her jaw needs operation, she has missing teeth and vision issues, and looks different.
An old school friend wouldn't recognise her.
Helen and her family bravely have asked Hull Live to publish the photos of Helen in hospital to show the extent of domestic abuse.
"The relationship had been a happy one.
He seemed really well-spoken and I thought he was going to look after mum," said Helen's daughter Abbie Burnett.
