ANGLESEY SEX OFFENDER BREACHED ORDER DAYS AFTER HIS RELEASE FROM PRISON
A MAN from Anglesey has returned to prison after breaching his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) within days of his release.
Damian Jones, 24, of Nant Terrace, Menai Bridge, was jailed for 14 months at Caernarfon Crown Court today (January 23).
Jones had previously admitted breaching his SHPO.
Prosecutor Elen Owen said in 2021, Jones was handed a suspended sentence and a 10-year SHPO after committing four sexual offences.
But after committing further offences, Jones was jailed for four years in April 2022, and the SHPO was extended to last indefinitely.
The terms of the SHPO included prohibiting Jones from downloading any mobile application without informing police first, and disclosing any usernames and passwords he uses.
When Jones was released from prison on October 16, 2025, the SHPO was made clear to him, and he was given a written version of it.
But on October 25, when police conducted a check at his home, Jones “took a while to come to the door,” and when he eventually did, appeared “dishevelled”.
He produced two phones, with police later discovering he had downloaded, and then deleted, the applications TikTok and Snapchat.
When interviewed, Jones “fully admitted” his offending.
Representing Jones, Dafydd Roberts said he shows a “lack of maturity.” Mr Roberts said that Jones suffered “significant trauma” in his childhood, and became a carer for his siblings.
Sentencing, Judge Nicola Jones told the defendant: “You’d just been released from custody shortly before you breached this SHPO.
“The aggravating features, for me, outweigh the mitigating features.”
