COREY LEA DIXON FROM LEA DIXON GRANTHAM JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In a serious case heard at Lincoln Crown Court, Corey-Lea Dixon, a 26-year-old resident of Tamar Court in Grantham, was sentenced to prison after admitting to multiple charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children. The court was informed that Dixon had downloaded and stored a vast collection of illegal material, which included thousands of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors.Prosecutor Noel Philo detailed the investigation, revealing that police had identified Dixon as a suspect following the receipt of reliable intelligence. Efforts to contact him were unsuccessful initially, but he was eventually apprehended at his workplace. During questioning, Dixon admitted to creating some of the images, although there was no evidence suggesting he had produced the material himself. It was noted that he was willing to circulate the images he possessed, but he was not charged with distribution.
The authorities discovered a staggering total of 8,623 illegal images on two mobile phones seized from Dixon. Among these, 2,409 were classified as being in the most serious category, with over 350 videos showing the rape of young girls by adult men. The presence of such a large number of videos was considered an aggravating factor in the case. The images involved very young children, some of whom were well under the age of seven, highlighting the severity and disturbing nature of the material.
Judge John Pini QC sentenced Dixon to 12 months in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years and was subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same duration. The judge emphasized the gravity of the offense, stating, "It is plain that if you are looking at images of children being sexually abused then those children have actually been abused. That is the seriousness of the offence. You provide the market for those who produce these images." The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions.
