CONNOR MURRAY IN COURT AFTER ASSAULTING HIS MUM AND A MAN WHO CAME TO HER AID
A Sheepridge man has appeared in court after assaulting his mum and a Good Samaritan who rushed to help her.
Connor Murray, of Occupation Road, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to the two assaults at a previous hearing.
Andy Wills, prosecuting, said that the offences happened on February 25 at Donna Murray’s Newsome home.
Murray, 20, had gone to see his mum following a row with his girlfriend.
He argued with Mrs Murray over an Xbox game and pushed her, causing her to stumble backwards.
Murray then pushed her again against a wall and the argument spilled out into the garden.
This was witnessed by Kevin McKenna as he left a neighbouring house.
Murray struggled with him as he and another neighbour detained him until police arrived.
Jonathan Slawinski, mitigating, said that Murray needs to grow up and deal with his anger.
Magistrates ordered him to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
They also issued a restraining order banning Murray from his mum’s home in Blue Bell Hill.
