CONNOR FEARON JAILED FOR 10 YEARS FOR CATTERALL RAPE
A man who committed a heinous crime involving rape and attempted strangulation has been sentenced to 10 years in prison at Preston Crown Court.Connor Fearon, aged 25, was found guilty of luring a vulnerable woman to a deserted bridleway in the early hours of December 19, 2020, in Catterall.
During the attack, Fearon inflicted a sustained and violent assault, during which he told the victim that she deserved to die.
He produced a rope, placed it around her neck, and strangled her before raping her.
Neighbours heard her screams and called the police; officers arrived to find her severely traumatised.
Fearon had managed to flee but was later identified and arrested.
A length of rope and yellow cable ties were recovered from the scene, with similar items found at his home.
Fearon admitted charges of rape, sexual assault by penetration, and choking with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The judge highlighted the severity of the attack, stating, 'This must have been an absolutely terrifying and traumatic experience for the victim...
Connor Fearon is clearly a dangerous man and I am satisfied that today’s sentence reflects the gravity of the offending and will protect the public for some time to come.'
