A man from Shropshire has received a 33-month prison sentence after being convicted of domestic abuse offenses, following a violation of his suspended sentence.
Colin Powell, who previously resided in Highley, Bridgnorth, admitted to four crimes including assault, breaching a restraining order, theft, and taking a vehicle without permission.
The court was told that in July 2021, the 37-year-old visited an address in Ludlow, where he assaulted a woman.
He also violated a restraining order and failed to adhere to the conditions of his suspended sentence, which had been imposed in June 2021.
Additionally, Powell escaped from the property with a mobile phone and a vehicle without approval.
He was detained and charged the following day and was held in custody while awaiting trial.
On Friday, January 21, the case was heard at Shrewsbury Crown Court, resulting in his sentencing.
