Batley's influence extended to the point where he could command his victims and disciples with a mere snap of his fingers. Among his most egregious acts was the initiation of an 11-year-old schoolgirl through rape, threatening her with murder by cult assassins and eternal damnation if she refused to comply. His depraved activities included rape, buggery, sexual assault, and forcing victims into prostitution. The court heard that Batley's depravity knew no bounds, and he had dedicated his life to satisfying his sexual urges by any means necessary, regardless of the victims' age or gender.

Batley's criminal enterprise was fueled by his earnings from prostitution, breeding Rottweilers and Siamese cats, gambling, and black market dealings. In 2002, social services in Carmarthenshire were alerted to Batley's child abuse activities by a concerned relative. It was only when a brave victim, who had been impregnated by Batley as a teenager, reported the abuse to the police last year that the full extent of his crimes was uncovered. During the trial at Swansea Crown Court, Judge Paul Thomas QC sentenced Batley to 22 years in prison, emphasizing that he may never be released. Batley's conviction included 35 counts of serious sexual offenses, such as rape, buggery, sexual assault, and forced prostitution.
