CLIVE THOMAS GRESFORD PENSIONER CAUGHT IN SEXUAL INCIDENT WITH TEENAGE GIRL
In November 2018, a disturbing incident came to light involving Clive Thomas, a 69-year-old resident of Vicarage Lane in Gresford.The case centered around a teenage girl, aged 15, who was subjected to inappropriate behavior by Thomas in his garden shed.
The events unfolded when Thomas, who had no prior criminal record, engaged in an act of non-penetrative sexual activity with the girl, which dated back to early 2017.
According to reports, Thomas instructed the girl to claim that the act had taken place at school as part of a dare, seemingly attempting to conceal the true nature of the incident.
However, the girl was overheard at her school discussing the event honestly, which led to authorities being alerted.
The police launched an investigation into the matter, uncovering the details of the inappropriate encounter.
During the court proceedings, Thomas admitted to the sexual activity, which involved giving the girl a love bite on the side of her neck.
The judge, Timothy Petts, described the act as completely unacceptable and emphasized the seriousness of the offense.
As a result, Thomas was sentenced to eight months in prison, though the sentence was suspended for two years.
Additionally, he was ordered to undertake 50 days of rehabilitation and complete 200 hours of unpaid community service.
Furthermore, the court imposed a financial penalty, requiring Thomas to pay £425 in costs.
To protect the public and prevent future offenses, the judge also issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts Thomas's activities and contact with minors.
He is also mandated to register as a sex offender with the police for the next decade, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct and compliance with legal obligations.
