CLIVE AMBROSE CAUGHT IN GREAT HORKESLEY WITH OVER 1,500 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Great Horkesley, Clive Ambrose, a 47-year-old man, was found to have amassed a staggering collection of more than 1,500 indecent images of children over a period of four years. The revelation came after police executed a search warrant at his residence on Grantham Road last summer, uncovering a significant cache of illicit material stored across multiple electronic devices.During the raid, authorities seized various devices belonging to Ambrose, which contained a disturbing array of images. Among these were ten images classified as Category A, representing the most severe level of illegal content involving children. Additionally, there were fifteen Category B images and a total of 1,529 images categorized as Category C. The police also discovered one prohibited image depicting a child and another that reflected acts of bestiality, further highlighting the severity of the material found.
Ambrose, who was employed as a design engineer at the time, was taken into custody and subsequently appeared before Colchester Magistrates’ Court. He pleaded guilty to five counts of possessing illegal images of children. His employment was immediately suspended following the allegations, and it is anticipated that he will face termination from his position.
In sentencing, Judge Christopher Morgan handed Ambrose a four-month prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months. As part of his rehabilitation, Ambrose is required to complete 60 days of supervised rehabilitation programs and perform 150 hours of unpaid community service. Furthermore, the court imposed a seven-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting him from having any unsupervised contact with children unless their parents are fully aware of his conviction. This order aims to prevent any potential harm and protect vulnerable minors from future exploitation.
Overall, the case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child exploitation material, and it serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences faced by those involved in such illegal activities.
