Clinton Bailey, a 36-year-old resident of Brockley in south-east London, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years for the murder of Leah Questin.
The court at the Old Bailey heard that Bailey, who met the 37-year-old care assistant online, murdered her in September of the previous year.
Her body was later found next to a dried-up pond near Cliffe in Kent, uncovered while she was naked.
Prosecutors revealed that Bailey impersonated a BBC executive on the internet and used her money to support an extravagant lifestyle, including purchasing champagne for other women while her remains were stored in his garage.
Although Bailey confessed to discarding Ms.
Questin’s body, he denied killing her, stating he was only responsible for the disposal.
The jury convicted him of her murder and observed that he had also stolen her £3,000 savings, which he spent on personal expenses, highlighting a deliberate attempt to financially exploit her.
Her sister described Bailey as 'a mad and senseless killer,' underscoring the tragic and irrational aspect of her death.
