DOG BEATER JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON HELPLESS PET
A man named Christopher Wilson was responsible for a brutal attack on a family dog which later had to be put down. The attack lasted for an hour and resulted in severe injuries including a fractured leg, bruising, bleeding muscles, and haemorrhages.
The incident occurred on November 23 of the previous year when Wilson was left alone with the dog at his former address in Willenhall, West Midlands.
The dog belonged to his girlfriend's mother, Moira Harris.
The grandmother-of-two Mrs.
Harris described discovering her pet with a swollen head, fixated eyes, a loose back leg, and blood under the skin.
She took the dog to vets where it was euthanized.
Experts indicated that the injuries were caused by blunt trauma, likely from being struck or run over.
Wilson initially denied causing harm or giving excuses such as the dog hitting her head or falling onto her.
He later admitted to causing unnecessary suffering and failing to ensure the animal’s welfare.
Wilson was sentenced to 23 weeks in jail, banned for life from keeping animals, and cannot appeal this decision for 20 years.
After the case, Moira Harris expressed her frustration, stating the prison sentence was too short and recalling her fond memories of Molly, the now-deceased dog.
