Nantwich Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has drawn significant attention in Nantwich, Christopher Tulip, a 21-year-old resident of Monks Orchard, is set to face sentencing after admitting to engaging in sexual activities with a minor. The incident involves a 14-year-old girl and dates back to the late summer of 2017.

On a Thursday morning at Chester Crown Court, Tulip appeared before the judge to enter his plea. He confessed to five separate counts of sexual activity with a child, acknowledging his involvement in these acts that took place between August 3, 2017, and September 7, 2017. The court proceedings revealed that the offences were committed against the young girl during this period, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of minors in the Nantwich area.

During the hearing, Tulip also faced two additional charges—one alleging sexual activity with a child and another accusing him of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. However, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty to these two counts. The prosecution, led by barrister Paulinus Barnes, clarified that they would not pursue a trial on these particular charges, leading the court to order these counts to be formally left on file without further proceedings.

The case has been scheduled for sentencing on May 10, 2019, at Chester Crown Court. In the meantime, a pre-sentence report is to be prepared to assist the judge in determining the appropriate punishment. Tulip was released on conditional bail, which includes strict conditions, and he has been instructed to sign the sex offenders’ register as part of his legal obligations. The court’s decision underscores the gravity of the allegations and the potential consequences that await Tulip once the sentencing process concludes.
