A 61-year-old man named Christopher Skinner, who works as a dock worker in Ipswich, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after being found guilty of possessing a significant collection of illegal and highly disturbing images.

The investigation, which was part of a broader national effort to combat child exploitation, uncovered nearly 8,000 indecent images of children on multiple electronic devices belonging to Skinner.

Some of these images were classified at the most severe level of depravity, indicating the extreme nature of the material involved.

In addition to the child exploitation images, police discovered that Skinner possessed extreme pornography involving a dog, further highlighting the disturbing nature of his offenses.

The authorities conducted a thorough search of Skinner’s property during a raid linked to the ongoing national investigation into child abuse and exploitation.

The evidence collected from various devices confirmed the extent of his illegal activities.

During the court proceedings, Skinner admitted to the offences, which spanned from 2013 to 2014.

Recognizing the severity of his crimes, the court also imposed a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, aimed at restricting his access to children and preventing any future offenses.

The sentencing underscores the serious stance taken by the justice system against individuals involved in the production, possession, or distribution of such harmful material, especially when it involves vulnerable minors and extreme content.
